Spiral Pipe Manufacturing Plant
Spiral Pipe Production – Strength and Reliability
The spiral pipe plant of … operates two advanced production lines in a covered space of 443×60 meters, with a covered warehouse (160×30 meters) and open storage (413×160 meters). Using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process, the plant manufactures spiral welded steel pipes for various industrial applications.
- Spiral Water (On-Line)
- Products: Steel pipes, diameter 20–120 inches, thickness 4.25–6 mm, length 6–18 m
- Application: Water transmission and industrial use
- Standard: AWWA C200
- Capacity: 75,000 tons/year
- Machinery: Wilson Bayard, Scotland
Production Process:
Steel coil is loaded, irregular ends are trimmed, and coils are joined by SAW welding. Edges are milled, plates are roll-formed into spiral pipes, and internal/external seams are welded continuously. Pipes are cut to length, beveled, hydrostatically tested, inspected, and stored.
- Spiral Gas (Off-Line DSSAW)
- Products: Steel pipes, diameter 20–64 inches, thickness 4.25–6 mm, length 6–18 m
- Application: Oil, gas, petrochemical, and water transmission
- Standards: API 5L, AWWA C200, ISO 3183
- Capacity: 225,000 tons/year
- Machinery: Thyssenkrupp, Germany
Production Process:
Steel coil is uncoiled, trimmed, and welded to the previous coil. Edges are milled, plates formed into pipes, spiral seams welded internally and externally, hydro-tested, and inspected by ultrasonic (UT), fluoroscopy, and final dimensional checks before storage.
